Production: -produced by Walt Disney Picture -directed by Jon Favreau -written by Justin Marks -focused more on Kiplings original books, gave it a darker tone -most of the films CGI -Favreau wanted it to be a tribute -it fades from hand drawn into CGI -all animals and landscapes are created on computers by MPC -the movie has a realistic look -Disney was open to Favreau's new approach -he took key parts of the book to keep nostalgia -to attract new audience and keep it modern they used popular voice actors people know e.g Scarlette Johansson to plays 'Kaa' the snake -for this movie they had a white voice actor for the arangatang to avoid racism -the voices influenced the animation -they went to India to take pictures of the forest and different settings to create a realistic landscape -there was a much bigger team for this movie -they used original music from 1967 movie -used Disneys huge archive to take ideas -original song writer Richard Sherman was used
