Nicki Minaj has made around 64 songs in her career so far so has a huge fan base including some where around 29 million followers on Instagram, 21 million followers on Twitters and around 30 million on Facebook. Due to her popular songs and social media accounts she has many devoted fans, this means many people especially young girls look up to her and see her as their idle. Its not just girls who are her fans, she uses her body to attract a male audience. In this particular music video I do think it is meant to attract men due to what she and the other dancers are wearing, so I think she is looking at the audience expecting more of a male audience. As most of the audience as men they'll be looking mainly at her body. She is wearing make-up and very little clothing this is to attract more people to the video, this might be seen as unnecessary as she already has such a big fan so no matter what she wore she would still attract loads of fans. I think it is meant to seem like Nicki has all the power in the video yet this is only half true as without her fans/ audience she wouldn't have a career so her and her audience have split power.

Media Language and Representation: Unseen Advertisement

Analyse how the poster advertisement (Source A) has created meaning through the use of Media Language in this source by comparing it to the Shelter advertising campaign. Amnesty use a hand to cut the barbed wire instead of scissors of wire cutters is because it shows peace, this also links with the fact that the hand is in the peace sign showing how they do peaceful protests. The barbed wire represents how people are taking away peoples human rights, for example, some people are forced into a life of slavery meaning their human rights are being taken away, so Amnesty are showing how they fight this with peace and cut the wire restricting people from their human rights. Shelter follows similar colours by using the red but also black.
