Unfinished Sympathy - Massive Attack: Analysis

- Camera shots / angles:
Throughout the whole clip there is only one camera shot so its one whole clip with no editing, yet the camera is moving throughout moving to different angles, some of the different camera angles used are: side view, front facing, behind shot etc. As the whole video is following this one woman yet showing her surrounding its a tracking shot as it is following her.
- Lighting:
There is only one source of light and that is from the sun as it only filmed on the side of the street so there isn't any need for more light. As they are showing the reality of the street and what its like the walk down them they try to keep it as real as possible.
- Settings:
The only setting is the street yet you can see around her all the shops and how there aren't any chain shops showing its a poor area, the setting is the streets.
- Location:
The location of the video one street in a clearly poor area that has gangs in as seen from the start of the video, its hard to tell where exactly this was filmed but it seems like somewhere in America.
- Costume:
As there are so many different people seen in the video as it shows her walking down a street there are many different costumes used, the main costume which is worn by the woman is black, this might be to dull her out and keep the audiences attention of the street as that is what they are trying to show. The other main costumes shown as the gang at the start wearing white vests and black jeans, the other obvious one is when she walks past
- Props:
The clip starts with a man holding two silver balls with his black gloves.
- Makeup:
Its hard to tell if there's any makeup as the main focus of the whole video is to show what the streets are like so it doesn't really focus on her face or any others.
- Editing:
There is little editing done if any as there aren't any cut until the end of the video, the whole video is one shot.
- Sound:
There isn't any diegetic sound in the video as you can mainly hear the non diegetic sound whilst the song is playing. Although at the start there is the sound of a dog barking and you can hear other sounds at the end so it like when she starts singing all other sounds are dulled out so we can hear her over them this is done so the song is the main focus point, yet the street is still  included to  make it feel realistic. They added sound at the start and end to make it feel more real so the audience believe its real and not set up.
