Stereotypes
Gender: stereotypes for gender are mainly based from the older times, men are meant to go to work and get money in for the family while the women stays are home looking after the kids, cooking and cleaning, these stereotypes aren't seen or thought of any more as women and just as work active as any man, so these stereotypes don't work for this time.
Social Class: this is another stereotype that doesn't relate to the present day but there is still clear lines between the rich and the poor. The different social classes are lower class, middle class and upper class, the lower class or also known as the working class do all the hard labour and are usually considered to work for the upper classes, the middle classes also do work but its not as long or as hard, they could be doctors or police or something like that, the upper classes usually own the factories that provide work for the lower classes. It doesn't work like that now but it does still happen as rich people still own factories and the poorer people do work for them, but they are treated much differently now than they use to be.
Age: Different ages have different stereotypes- Children (loud, not so smart, could be seen as annoying, easily amused and many other things to different people), Teens (mardy, selfish, lazy, arrogant, smokers, drinkers, not bothered about school, unemployed and many more), Adults (mature, smart, independent, bossy etc.) Old people (wise, venerable, forgetful, weak, wrinkly, quiet, grey hair...), these stereotypes are still seen and still apply to some people but everyone is different no matter what age so these don't apply to everyone.
Disability: There are many different disabilities and many stereotypes to go with them, blind (one common stereotype is that blind people always have a guide dog or a stick, some people who might watch too TV could believe that blind people have super hearing this is mainly due to a Netflix series called Daredevil about a blind man you fight crime thanks to his super hearing), deaf (seeing as deaf people cant hear and not many people know sign language people might think deaf people always have a translator with them who helps them do day to day things, also people might think as they are deaf they could work in a loud working environment as it wouldn't effect them yet the vibration still damage them), there are also stereotypes for disabled people in general, one of them is that disabled people might do simple jobs that don't take much effort, also they cost a lot to employ but neither of these are true, also it is thought that there could be a lot of accident in the work place due to there disabilities yet the same amount of work accident happen to disabled people than not disabled people.
