H & M Bring It On- Textual Analysis
Editing:
In the H & M video 'Bring It On' there are loads of cuts used to show different locations and different people who all have old or dirty clothes, they use different locations to show that every where in the world people have old or dirty clothes which can be re-used to turn into car seats or made into other clothes. The cuts are also used as fast paced editing to show how time is still going on until near the middle where the girl is in the forest and time seems to slow down, then it cuts again to the manufacturing of materials to show the process.
Soundtrack:
In the background the whole time there is non dietetic sound of a beat that make it seem like the cuts are fast, the other non diegetic sound is of the woman speaking over the people its like she is narrating the people, one of the only diegetic sounds used is the sound of the birds when the woman is standing in the forest.
Mise en scene:
There isn't one setting for this clip as it cuts from loads of different places around the world to show how everyone can take part and help, most of the clothes seen are old, dirty or ripped to give people the impression that they can turn any clothing or material into something useful
